Summertime Slaw and more

Before I share my recipes with you, I want to tell you about our additions.  We've added some new products since my last blog:

4 New Olive Oils

 Citrus Habanero

 Roasted Chili

Blood Orange

4 New Balsamics

Cucumber Melon White

Peach White

Raspberry White

We also have tapenades and olives

Do you like coleslaw?  There are so many variations to this simple dish.  I'd like to share mine.  It's a Summertime slaw.  Blueberries are the star attraction.  Of course the dressing uses olive oil and balsamic from The Olive Spout.

Summertime Slaw

16 oz. Tri-color Cole slaw

12 oz.  Broccoli Slaw

1 small red onion, finely chopped

1/3 cup chopped fresh cilantro

1 pint fresh blueberries (washed)

3/4 cup Olive Spout Cranberry Walnut Olive Oil

1/4 cup Olive Spout Raspberry Balsamic Vinegar

1 tsp salt

pepper to taste

Optional- add honey to taste

Mix dressing, pour over slaw , mix, chill and serve

It doesn't get any simpler than that. This slaw is so good!

Jalapeño Chicken with Summertime Slaw

Jalapeño Chicken with Summertime Slaw

I marinated chicken breast in Olive Spout's Jalapeno Olive Oil, added salt and pepper and roasted it. This was the perfect combination with the slaw.

A lot of people are shy about trying the Jalapeño Oil.  Let me reassure you, this oil is all about flavor and only has a mild heat. My husband, who does NOT like heat, likes it. You really taste the flavor of the jalapeño.  For those of you who like heat,  you could combine this with our Citrus Habanero or Our Roasted Chili Olive oil.

Now for dessert, I have 2 offerings, both starring fruit.
