Welcome and thanks for reading my blog. I look forward to sharing discoveries with you, and hope to learn together about the many wonderful ways Olive oils and Balsamic Vinegars can add flavor and variety to meals. Let me begin by sharing our journey. In February, 2013 my husband, Tom and I visited my brother and his family in Scottsdale, AZ. While shopping there we walked into Outrageous Olive Oils and Vinegars. I was instantly hooked! I sampled their variety of flavors, and eventually chose one of each.
As I exited the store I told Tom, an entrepreneur at heart, that I was sure there was market for these items in York/Adams County, PA. After months of thinking about it, when we learned about The Amish Markets in Hanover, PA, we decided to go for it.
We currently have 6 unflavored Extra Virgin Olive Oils, each with a distinct flavor, 13 infused Olive Oils, and 16 Balsamic Vinegars, 6 of which are white. The flavors are great on their own, but combining them offers an endless potential. Coconut Lime, Jalapeno Lime, and Lemon Blackberry Ginger are 3 of my favorite combinations.
My new favorite salad dressing is so easy! Mix our Natural Meyer Lemon Olive Oil with our Blackberry Ginger Balsamic Vinegar. You may add a bit of water or not, depending on how thick or pourable you want the dressing to be. Just the oil and vinegar mix together so well, and they don't separate. You will find separation occurs if you add water, but it's OK, just give it a shake before pouring on your salad.
Monday nights are special at our house. We have family dinner. This week I tossed potatoes in a combination of olive oils, and seasoned them with salt, pepper, garlic, basil and dill before roasting them in the oven. Our Lime EVOO and Coconut White Balsamic Vinegar made the perfect marinade for grilled chicken. My favorite Spinach Strawberry Springtime Salad with lemon blackberry ginger dressing completed the meal. This was a very simple, delicious meal.
